The Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) is working to discover, preserve, provide access, and educate the community about Texas’ moving image heritage. Dating back to 1900, TAMI’s collection is accessible at www.texasarchive.org and features local television, home movies, newsreels, actualities, industrial films, advertisements and more. The organization has no physical exhibit space, but often hosts screenings and events in the Austin area and across Texas.
TAMI is also home to the Texas Film Round-Up, a traveling program providing free digitization of Texas-related films and video, and Teach Texas, a collection of educator resources for using Texas films in the classroom.
